Vision and Values
Our School Vision
For all our learners to be empowered to become confident individuals who develop a thirst for lifelong learning. We encourage collaboration, cooperation and respect for each other, so our learners develop into responsible and empathetic citizens, with a sense of pride in everything they do, to be able to believe, achieve and succeed in their lives.
Hyrstmount's Heroic Values
Our values are named Hyrstmount’s Heroic Values as they represent our positive culture and enable us to be the best version of ourselves. They underpin the school’s vision and form the basis of our behaviour policy.
Cooperation | Determination | Empathy | Respect | Responsibility
Our values are prominently displayed in our school hall and assemblies frequently explore what each value entails, so that there is a mutual understanding of what it means to be a Hyrstmount Hero, and what, as a school community, we can do to uphold the values.
House Teams
All learners are in a House Team and earn house points for good work, behaving well and upholding Hyrstmount’s Heroic Values. The house with the most house points is announced each week at Friday’s assembly, and a running total is kept so we know who the winning house is at the end of the year. Learners also have the chance to compete against each other in house teams for sporting events, competitions and quizzes.
Each house has two house captains, elected by their House Teams, who are responsible for organising house events, counting the house points each week and leading by example through their behaviour and attitude.
